Latest News from Working Groups

  • First steps have been made to develop the StayLive Competency Card to replace the old Green Competence Passbook. The new card will be digital, use smart card technology, and hold an individual's training records and competency endorsements.

  • The second meeting was held recently at which the working group further reviewed their input sheet taking account of wider requirements and focussing on including leading indicators.

  • The working group has almost completed its first operator training draft guideline. The guideline is broken into 3 main topics: Formal Training, Task Based Training and Competency Assurance.  Our objective from the document is to showcase best practice examples from within our industry and to supply information as to how an organisation would get there.

Work Control Procedures

Consensus from the working group was that the WCP did not require any further updates in 2018 and that time should be given to embed the procedures within the member organisations. Meridian have developed an on-line training tool and this will be shared with the group when they next meet in October 2018.
