SCT Costs Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can we invoice or charge back the subscription cost?

A: No, this subscription cost should be included as part of your standard operating expenses. It is not reimbursable separately.

Q: Will asset owners be issuing a Purchase Order (PO) for the subscription fee?

A: No, a PO will not be provided. The subscription fee should be incorporated into your ongoing operational budgeting and cost structures.

Q: Who is required to have a subscription?

A: All personnel who require access to the SCT platform will need an individual subscription. This applies to any person engaged to work on Generation Assets or requiring unsupervised access to Generation sites. It also includes the requirement to have at least one SCT Administrator for your organisation, which can be a generation industry worker or another employee of your organisation.

Q: How will the subscription be billed?

A: Contractors are responsible for managing and funding the subscription directly. JNCTN (the company that powers the SCT) will invoice you directly based on the numbers of subscriptions you require. Their terms are yearly, payable in advance. Refer JNCTN Terms (www.jnctn.nz/terms). This cost should be treated like any other recurring operational cost or license your team uses to deliver services.

Q: What if a contractor works with multiple generators? Do they need to pay more than once?

A: No, each individual subscription is tied to the person, not the specific generator or client. If a contractor works with multiple generators, only one subscription per person is required, and it can be used across all relevant engagements.

Q: When are the annual SCT charges billed?

A: For:

Individual SCT Users;

  • The month after their registration will become the beginning of their annual term. E.g register in June 2025 and JNCTN will bill you for July 2025 to June 2026.

Organisations have the following options;

  • The month after your people have registered will become the beginning of your annual term. E.g register in June 2025 and JNCTN will bill you for July 2025 to June 2026. JNCTN will include the names of those being invoiced on the invoice.
  • Where your registrations will span over a longer period than a month, please contact JNCTN at accounts@jnctn.nz to discuss billing options. JNCTN can bill for an initial group of users and then prorate the next set(s) to make sure your annual billing falls on the same period.

Q: If a user is no longer employed, do we get a credit for the unused portion of the year?

A: JNCTN (SCT) membership is an annual membership, if a user no longer wishes to use JNCTN there is no credit for any unused portion of their current membership term. If a SCT user leaves your organisation, they take their membership with them and will not be charged at their new organisation until their renewal date.
