Emergency Response
StayLive members have entered into an industry‑wide Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that sets out how electricity generator sector organisations will support one another during significant emergency events.
The MoU recognises that major incidents—such as natural disasters or other large‑scale emergencies—may affect one or more member companies and require a co‑ordinated, cross‑industry response to maintain public safety and continuity of electricity supply.
Purpose of the MoU
The purpose of the Memorandum of Understanding is to:
- Enable mutual assistance between member companies during regional or national emergency events
- Support a collective, good‑faith response, with participants putting aside competitive considerations where necessary
- Provide a clear framework for how assistance may be requested and offered during an emergency
- Strengthen the industry’s ability to respond effectively to events that exceed the capacity of a single organisation
Scope and Participation
The MoU applies to all StayLive member companies, including Associate Members
It covers emergency situations that have the potential to impact public safety, electricity supply, or critical infrastructure
Participation is based on capability, availability, and safety considerations at the time of the event
Status of the MoU
The Memorandum of Understanding has been signed by all StayLive member companies
The MoU remains in effect as a standing agreement to support industry collaboration during emergencies
